Bay Area Media Alert

I just found out I'll be on the KTVU (Channel 2 in Oakland, Calif.) television program "Mornings on 2" this Thursday, March 23. I'm scheduled to be interviewed for about five minutes at 8:15 a.m. This is in advance of my appearance at Cody's Fourth Street in Berkeley at 7 p.m. Saturday.

For those beyond the San Francisco Bay Area who won't be able to see the show, I expect the first 4½ minutes to look a little something like this:

The last half minute may involve either speaking or barfing. I haven't decided which way to go yet. Tune in to find out!

Ya know Brian, I would have watched anyway, but now I HAVE to see how those last 30 seconds pan out! May I suggest a light breakfast? Thanks for the book and the inscription, it really neans a lot to me and my family. Congratulations on all the success and recognition; you have earned it all and more! Lorna

Oh, dear LORD, I love this sketch! How painfully, painfully pained I am to know that I won't get to see the 3-D version live, and in colour - sorry, color. :)

I will have to ask my mom to film it for me. I vote for speaking. No one wants to see you toss your cookies on TV.

You will be great!

Geez...come on...go get TIVO... I've got to see this!!!

Regardless, I am sure you will do fine. Think of it as prep for bigger interviews and audiences in your future. Now you have an opportunity to "fine tune" your responses so that you aren't hurling all over Oprah's shoes!
:)
I've got drugs for that!

My mom said she will film it! I look forward to seeing your interview. You will be great!

If you get on Oprah, will you put in a good word for me? My sister wanted to get on her show and share her story.

You'll do fine! How I wish I could see it!

And yes... love the sketch!

Thanks for all your encouraging notes, my friends and sisters. I'm actually fairly comfortable and confident, but plan to skip breakfast tomorrow just in case.

Lynda, if I ever hear from Oprah, I'll spill it here first. Just listen for the pealing of trumpets.

Brian - Take a deep breath! I know you will be great! If I can get on Oprah, I will have to see if I can get you to be a guest too. I think it is important for people to see both the smoking and non-smoking side of things. Maybe we can get a 2 day episode going? ;) However, with your book, I think you have a better chance.

Lynne - I am glad to hear of your interest in Laurianne's Story. I don't know if you have looked at Laurianne's Hope yet, but that is the blog that my dad and I use the most to share information. I use my personal blog as well, but not quite as much. It is just that lung cancer will always be a part of my life now.

Brian - Sorry, I took over your comments. lol.

Great job, Brian! You even did a cool hand gesture at one point, reminiscent of your NY Comic-Con photo. It appears that wasn't just a fluke. Nicely done!

Great job Brian, you looked cool and collected. What a pro! I had Nurse Sis on the phone so at least she could get the audio version. Lorna
